Retreat Itinerary
1-4: Beijing (Historical Capital, 3,000+ Years of History)
Beijing, China’s political and cultural hub since 1045 BC, is home to some of the country’s most iconic landmarks:
• The Great Wall of China (7th Century BC): A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s greatest architectural achievements.
• Summer Palace (1750): A masterpiece of Chinese garden design, used as a royal retreat during the Qing Dynasty.
• Forbidden City (1420): The former imperial palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, containing over 900 buildings.
• Temple of Heaven (1420): A sacred site for ancient emperors to pray for good harvests.
• Nanluoguxiang: A 13th-century historic alley filled with traditional courtyards, shops, and cafes.
Day 5-12: Dengfeng (The Land of Shaolin, 3,000+ Years of History)
Dengfeng, located in Henan Province, has been a center of spiritual practice and martial arts for millennia.
• Shaolin Temple (495 AD): The birthplace of Zen Buddhism and Shaolin Kung Fu, known worldwide for its spiritual and martial traditions.
• Dharma Cave: A secluded cave where Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen Buddhism, meditated for nine years.
• Mountain Song (Sacred Mountain): One of China’s five sacred mountains, revered for its spiritual energy and stunning views.
• Tagou Martial Arts Academy: One of the largest martial arts schools in the world, offering a glimpse into modern Shaolin training.
• Sanhuangzhai Scenic Area: A breathtaking mountain area offering a perfect setting for meditation and Qigong.

Day 13-14: Xi’an (Ancient Capital, Over 3,100 Years of History)
Xi’an, the starting point of the Silk Road, was China’s capital for 13 dynasties and holds unparalleled historical significance.
• Tang Pagoda (652 AD): A symbol of Buddhist heritage and ancient Chinese architecture.
• Ancient City Wall (14th Century): The most well-preserved city wall in China, perfect for a scenic bike ride.
• Terracotta Warriors (210 BC): A UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring over 8,000 life-sized clay soldiers guarding the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang.
• Farewell Dinner: A celebratory meal marking the end of this extraordinary journey.
